The EuRail Pass can NOT be used by European residents. They have to travel with an InterRail pass. Persons have lived in one of the following countries for at least the preceding six months are allowed to buy a EuRail pass.

KIDS (0-3 years old) accompanied by an adult travel for free.

CHILD: this ticket is only available in combination with an ADULT/SAVER ticket. The price amounts to 50% of the ADULT/SAVER ticket.

SAVER/FAMILY: travel in a group of 2 to 5 persons. All travelers' names are printed on one pass, so you need to travel together.

AGE: the effective date is the first travel day with your ticket, not the day of the purchase.

Night trains usually require a reservation according to the selected seat or bed category.:

The 7 p.m. rule for night trains helps you save travel days when using a EuRail pass with flexible travel days:

The EuRail pass is valid for services of the national railway companies of the participating countries as well as for services of several private rail companies:

Validity

The Eurail pass has to be activated within 6 months of the issuing date. It is easy to do this activation at all larger European train stations.:

Ticket activation

ONE travel day lasts from 00:01 a.m. until 23:59 p.m. You can use as many trains and cross as many country borders as you want during one travel day.

If you travel with a Flexi Pass (XX travel days within a time frame of YY days) write down your travel days on your ticket whenever you use one. You only fix the starting date of your pass at the purchase.

EuRail is only valid for persons who meet the criteria in the yellow box.
