Raildude - first time InterRail

First time InterRail

InterRail: Step by step guide for first-time InterRailers. Information about how InterRail works, the different kinds of Interrail tickets, how to plan your trip, how to calculate your travel budget, train reservations, night trains and ferries.

The Raildudes have done research about many European point-to-point train connections.
You can find all important information about train routes without reservation fees, scenic routes, extra fast connections and overnight trains.

Information about exact departure and arrival times, photos of trains and their compartments, information about possible extra costs and all the details on night trains.

InterRail is a rail pass that allows you to travel around Europe according to the folliwing principles:

One rail pass for using (almost) all trains in Europe.
Simple and easy: get into a train anywhere in Europe and just start travelling wherever you want.

Due to the newer and faster connections by high-speed trains, some routes will require extra reservation fees for specific types of trains. However, they can almost always be avoided (see the Raildudes' train connections list)

Night trains usually require a reservation as well, depending on the sleeper category you want to travel in. But at the same time you can save on costs for a hostel.

The Raildudes do research about irail nformation and ticket prices, in order that you can best prepare your tour , knowing exactly what costs you will have to expect in total:

- which connections are available
- where you will have to pay extra reservation fees, how much they cost and how you can avoid them, if you want
- what kind of night trains are available in Europe

For all details please check the conditions of use.
