The central train station of Karlsruhe was voted in 2008 as the "Station of the Year" (in the category of big-cities railway stations).
I have used this station several times. In addition to a travel centre, there are also shops and restaurants (but not very much).
The railway station of Karlsruhe is one of 21 German stations that belong to category 1. Stations of category 1 are big and busy railway stations. They are housed in prestigious buildings and are usually in the center of the city. You can find a good service provided by DB and usually plenty of shopping options.
This station carries the title of "Your shopping station - shopping, dining, experience ... 365 days a year."
This station has a "travel agent at the station" (this travel agency chain currently has 32 stores in Germany).
There are toilets in the main entrance hall and in the back left corner (somewhat hidden). The access (via the revolving door) costs 0.50 cents. WC users can store their bags in the lockers in front for 20 minutes free of charge.
