There are always discounted train tickets for children and young people. The age limit varies from country to country. Usually children up to the age of 3 travel for free. Before the age of 12 or 16 years they get a reduction of 50% on the normal ticket price. Please note the details at the train tickets information here on Raildude.

Generally, it is very relaxed to travel by train with children. They can move around all the time. You can also find special mother-child compartments or children-compartments with games and a children's cinema in more and more trains.

The carrying of prams is allowed. Often these can be parked in the entrance area of the wagons.
