IC dont have compulsory reservation with InterRail but with all other regular tickets. That's why it is advisable to get a reservation (EUR 3) anyway, especially for longer distances.

Pay attention with the data in the schedule planers:

IC with a 3 digit number: this is the one mentioned here.

IC with a 4 digit number: this is NOT the one mentioned here. It is an Eurostar City or Frecciabianca train with a reservation fee of EUR 10!

Journey preferences: select the type of cabin/bed/seat you want to book.

Make the payment.

You can only get the reservation send to a postal address in Italy or pick it up at a ticket machine in an Italian railway station.
