The main railway station of Leipzig is one of the 21 German stations that belong to category 1.
Stations of category 1 are big city stations and very busy. They are housed in magnificent buildings.

Leipzig Central Station is located in the city center. You "stumbles" directly in the pedestrian zone.

There is a good service offer in Leipzig Central Station.

Along with several other institutions, there is also a DB Lounge. Access for:
- Passengers with a valid DB intercity ticket first Class
- Bahn.bonus comfort customers and one person in their company
Note: The DB-Lounge is a little hidden. To get there, you first have to cross the small hall of a car rental (I think it was Sixt). The DB-lounge is relatively well signposted. You just have to trust to enter the office of the rental company and have the DB Lounge close by.

Furthermore, the Leipzig Central Station is one of the few stations in Eastern Germany, which has a station mission. To my knowledge, the mission is accessible from the outside and that of the east side (Address: Willy-Brandt-Platz 2a). The opening times are Monday to Friday. From 09:00 to 16:30h and on Sundays and public holidays from 13:30 to 18:00h. Currently, the mission has not open on Saturdays.

The shopping in Leipzig central station is truly outstanding.
It was awarded as "Station of the Year". I think this station is truly deserving of this award!

The station also has a branch office "travel agency in the station" (Address: Willy-Brandt-Platz 5). The opening times are Monday-Friday mornings from 09:00 to 13:30 h and in the afternoon from 14:15 to 19:00 h and on Saturday from 09:00 to 16:00 h.

For me it is the most beautiful station in Germany.

In Leipzig Central Station there are also showers. Usage is 7 EUR.
