Now currently going from Belgrade to Bratislava via Budapest spending the day in Budapest while getting night trains either side of it. Was wondering if there was a better way someone found for example a solid train route with perhaps only an hour between trains at Budapest?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place or somewhere else I have been looking quite hard but couldn't find anything useful.

There is a direct train, and another one with a change in Budapest

Belgrade 1000 - 1804 Budapest
Budapest 1958 - 2234 Bratislava
