Hostels book or not

how much will a standard hostel be for a single person for a night staying in a dorm mostly down eastern europe if i book before or if i turn up and book?

Good hotels for the whole of Europe. Book easily and quickly in advance. Including ratings of each location.

Check http://hostelworld.raildude.com for detailed information and rankings.
I recommend to book at least one night in advance - it is much more comfortable to arrive in a new city knowing where to go and where to put your backpack.
And you definitely save a lot of time.
