Is it possible to travel from Paris to Brussels by bus? If so, can you buy tickets online or do you have to go to a station?

Hi!

I dont know if there are bus services operating...but even if there are there is no use to need them as there are many train services available which you can use with InterRail. As our main topic is travelling Europe with InterRail I cant give you more details on buses. :?

PARIS - BRUSSELS | train

Postby fxcgomes » 26 May 2011 - 18:16

Hi,

I used Route Planner to plan this route for me and on the 31st of July, the following connection is available:

Paris - Amiens:
Internationale sneltrein 2007 (1h10) 08:04 – 09:14
Amiens - Lille Flandres:
RE 43923 (1h19) 09:40 – 10:59
Lille Flandres - Gent St Pietres:
RE 19717 (0h55) 11:08 – 12:03
Gent St Pietres - Bruxelles Midi:
IC 511 (0h31) 12:24 – 12:55

The problem is with the first train. When I read the type of train I found it odd and am not sure if it is free of supplements as the other three. It do says "please reserve". I selected "Without HST" in my search. Do you know if it is free?

Hi Chico.

The train Paris - Amiens is an "Intercités" train of SNCF (French national railway company). It is free of extra fees for rail pass travellers.

Peter :)

yes of course- but not with IR. EUROlines.com (take .fr for lve from FR, .be for ditto ex BE) and book online and PRINT that ticket-very, very cheap if done out of season and advance (about 12-15€/single), but takes a VERY long time and lvs from a suburban busstation in Paris-end of some metro. About ev 2 hrs daytime and takes at least 4 hrs.
